William Delbert Gann (W.D.Gann), Whole world want to know about his knowledge, calculations, geometry, astrology and ancient mathematics, trading standards, confidence and what not.
Gann's trading standards & strategies are still widely used today. And many of the Analysts are doing their research on Gann methods, Gann wheel, Gann Square of 9. Gann also authored a number of books and courses on shares and commodities trading.
Gann was born June 6, 1878 in Lufkin, Texas. He was the first of 11 children in an impoverished cotton-farming family. He started trading in 1902 when he was 24. Initial stages he faced failure in the trades. Then after some time Gann started working at a brokerage firm in Texarkana and attending business school at night.
Many people believe that Gann Travelled many countries of the work to learn Astrology, Astronomy, Geometry and so on. India is one the country he travelled to & learned about the Astrological details. As India is known to be the master in Astrology and spiritual knowledge.
After this Gann moved to New York to work with a Wall Street brokerage firm. And soon Gann opened his own brokerage firm, W.D. Gann & Company. And then Gann started publishing a daily market newsletter called “The Supply and Demand Newsletter”. In which stocks & commodities forecasts are made for whole year. Another publication called “The Busy Man’s Service” was started in 1923. In this publication Gann gave specific trading recommendations to the readers.
We can tell he was the richest person of that time.
Even though it is often debated that whether Gann used astrology to time the market, it is found that many “natural dates” described in Gann’s How to Make Profits Trading in Commodities coincided with recurring astrological themes.
Financial astrologers believe that different commodities are affected by different planetary combinations. Inside Gann’s How to Make Profits Trading in Commodities, the following associations could be identified:
One of the most controversial techniques that Gann used is that he converted the price directly to zodiac degrees. For example, if a commodity is trading at $120 per share, he would convert it to 120° of the zodiac, which is 0° Leo. If the price makes a major aspect (e.g. conjunction, trine, square, etc.), then it is believed that the price will reach a short-term top or bottom.
As much as we know. Many a times W.D.Gann has challenged the market that the market will not cross beyond the certain price. And that actually happened, which made him more known personality in Trading world.
